One of those evacuated, Rafael Aliyev, said he had been in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz for work when the situation began to deteriorate,

Iran has carried out strikes on 14 U.S. military bases in the region, a military source told Tasnim News Agency. The source also said that three advanced Israeli drones known as “Hermes” were shot down by air defense systems in Tabriz, Khomein and Ahvaz.

The communications blackout is expected to further restrict the flow of information from inside Iran as military operations continue.
